OUR BURNING BUSH
Our JUNTOS group is inspired by the Story of Moses and how God talked to him through the Burning Bush.
Moses, a Hebrew at birth, grew up removed from the misery of his people. Even though he grew up with great riches, he was troubled by the treatment that the rest of his people were receiving from the Egyptian government. After struggling with his identity and, to protect and care for his people, he attacks an Egyptian man and flees to Midian (Exodus 2). It is in the midst of this struggle that Moses encounters God. When God approaches him through a Burning Bush, He recognized that this was a big task, and equipped Moses for it, who freed His people from oppression and restored the Israelites into the land promised to their ancestors in God’s covenant with Abraham (Exodus 3).
God is calling our JUNTOS group to step up and step in to help our suffering communities. He is appointing and equipping us with the necessary skills and resources to lead our communities to a life full of love and provision- a land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 33). Most of us, like Moses, grew up in a different reality than the people we are called to serve, and even though we doubt if we are the right people, God reassures us that He is the one that will stretch His mighty hand. He will touch the hearts of those who can help, and we will be the vessel communicating His message.
